4TH OF JULY - PARADE

Choros Charas Destination presents 4th of July Parade at the city of Brentwood, Ca.
The students and the founder of Choros Charas - Destination for Arts came together from near/far to participate in the 4th of July Parade at the City of Brentwood, Ca. The dancers presented traditional Bharathanatyam performance to over 5000 audiences gathered at the Parade. The performances were well received by the community and the Mayor of the City of Brentwood.

Choros Charas Destination's 4th of July Carnival at the city of Brentwood, Ca.
City of Brentwood Ca, offered Choros Charas - Destination for Arts a stall to present at the 4th of July Carnival. The Balloon Pop a classic game stall received attentions from over 5000 people including infants, kids, adults and seniors for over 4 hours.

ARTS IN PROGRESS - LAUNCH

Choros Charas - Destination for Arts launched its first Arts exploration initiative the Arts in Progress at the Choros Charas - Destination for Arts, Brentwood, Ca.

The Arts in Progress is an Arts exploration initiative by the Choros Charas - Destination for Arts to provide a stage for Artists of various disciplines including Dance, Music, Theatre and Visual Arts. the artists present their original work or a work-in-progress to a limited audience where the Audience represent the Panel members and the artists get an opportunity to interact with the audience explaining their concept, Q&As and receive feedback.

Shobhakrith - The Annual Recital 2023

Choros Charas Destination presents Shobhakrith - The Annual Recital 2023.
Shobhakrith is the name of the Tamil/Telugu/Kannada New year in the Vedic Calendar that starts in April. At Choros Charas - Destination for Arts we celebrate our annual recital around this time as we welcome the New Year.
Shobhakrith is the 37th year of the 60 year cycle. This year, we invite you to celebrate warmth and happiness as Shobakrith means a Mangalam or a great beginning.
Choros Charas - Destination for Arts is truly delighted to host in-person events after the 2-3 years of unimaginable Pandemic lockdowns that we have all gone through.
The pandemic hit us all hard — and 3 years ago in April of 2020, we had to cancel our Annual recital due to the fast spreading Covid - 19. 2 years of virtual classes and performances later, we hosted our first in-person performance in October 2021, celebrating Vidhyarambha. We then followed that with Shubhkakrithi - The Annual recital of 2022 and today it’s truly an honor to have you all at Shobhakrith - the Annual Recital 2023.

The Arangham is a platform to bring opportunities for aspiring and experienced Musicians, dancers and Theatre artists to meet, work together and explore various perspectives of a production — such as choreography, music composition, direction, curation, Stage management, production Management, Artists coordination, Grant writing, Research, etc.,

The Chapter 2 — Bhaja Viswanatham was successfully premiered in Wisconsin in March of 2023, At the Hindu Temple of Wisconsin.

Margazhi in San Francisco is a humble effort by the Choros Charas - Destination for Arts partnered with Sri Vidya Dance School to bring Chennai’s celebrated Margazhi festival to our Bay Area. The Festival provides a platform for both aspiring and professional artists from across the globe who practice Indian Classical Music and Dance forms. MISF started as a virtual music and dance festival during the year 2020 amidst the pandemic and has been consecutively conducted for the Past 3 years with over 100s of artists participating across the globe.

The Arangham is a platform to bring opportunities for aspiring and experienced Musicians, dancers and Theatre artists to meet, work together and explore various perspectives of a production — such as choreography, music composition, direction, curation, Stage management, production Management, Artists coordination, Grant writing, Research, etc.,
The Arangham Launched its Debut Production Nauka Charitham - A story of a Boat, in October 2022 in San Francisco with about 30 crew members including 5 lead dancers and a Live Orchestra to a Full House.

Swathi Laskhmanan choreographed for the Shiva Tandava Stotram a musical rendition by Shankar Mahadevan and a literature that was penned by Shri Adi Shankaracharya 1000s of years ago. The Shiva Tandava Stotram was sung in praise of Shiva by the late King Raavan, The King of Lanka.

On the occasion of Lord Ganesh Chathurthi, Swathi lakshmanan choreographed for a famous Kriti Sri Vigna Rajam Bhaje. The dance was presented at the Palace of Fine Arts, San Francisco at a monumental destination along with Nidhi Menon on August 29, 2020.
74th INDIAN INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

On the Occasion of 74th Indian Independence day, Swathi lakshmanan choreographed for the National Song "Vandhe Matharam" written by Poet Rabindranath Tagore. The dance was presented along with Nidhi Menon at the Ferry building San Francisco to an open audience crowd that gathered at the location for a breezy evening on August 15, 2020.

The performance was applauded and cheered by a lot of people in the location.

All India Artists Association organized the first virtual platform for the Artists around the globe during the Pandemic. Purvi Narayanan a Disciple of Swathi Lakshmanan represented Choros Charas - Destination for Arts in May 2020. Purvi performed a Thillana in the Raaga Shanmukapriya and was hugely appreciated by the patron from the globe.

On the Occasion of Trishakthi UTSAV and woman's day 2020, The Shiva Vishnu temple Livermore celebrated Tri Shakthi. Swathi lakshmanan Presented a krithi depicting all 3 devis Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswathi through Bharathanatyam.
RESTORATIVE DANCE & YOGA
City College of San Francisco
Swathi Lakshmanan conducted a Restorative Yoga Session along with Dandiya to some Yoga and Dance enthusiastic staffs and members at the City College of San Francisco.

We experimented ways to restorate ourselves with the process of Meditation, a mild Yoga as we warmed up and we geared up with a high paced dandiya with a over of over 40 people.
At the end of session all the attendees said they felt happier from inside and would love to do the restorative yoga and dancing often to keep their energy up.
SHIVARATHRI NATYA SEVA

Shiva Rathri is one of major festival for Indian dancers and musicians and it is usually celebrated widely in all temples in India. At the Ashtalakshmi Temple San Mateo, Swathi lakshmanan presented a Natya seva recreating the processions of Shiva around the streets of the temple along with the students of Choros Charas - Destination for Arts, and professional dancers Aishwarya Chandhrashekhar and Samanvitha ranjan.
The organizers and the patrons appreciated the initiative and the presentation.
ARUDHRA NATYANJALI

On the occasion of Arudra Festival celebrated at the Shiva-Vidhnu Temple, Livermore California Swathi Lakshmanan and Nidhi Menon presented a Mahalakshmi Stotram choreographed by Swathi lakshmanan. There were over 30 schools that participated in the festival to present their expertise on January 21, 2020.

Song of the River - ganga is a Solo Dance production Directed by Swathi Lakshmanan. In this production Swathi Lakshmanan, Depicted the beauty of the river and its evergreen nayure. The production was presented to a Full house on January 1, 2020 in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Swathi Lakshmanan presented a series of 6 performances during the December season of 2019 in various venues in Chennai. The recital was 5th in the series that season on December 30, 2019.
Swathi lakshmanan presented Shri Vaikuntam depicting the stories of Lord Krishna as the season is dedicated to the lord himself. The series were presented to a full house along with a live orchestra as well.

Swathi Lakshmanan presented a series of 6 performances during the December season of 2019 in various venues in Chennai. The 4th recital in the series was presented at the Shanmukhanandha Sabha, Mumbai. The venue has hosted most renowned artists from all over the world. Swathi Lakshmanan presented a Margam in the venue to a full house on December 28, 2019 with a live orchestra.

Swathi Lakshmanan presented a series of 6 performances during the December season of 2019 in various venues in Chennai. The 3rd performance in the series was hosted by Anusham Arts Academy by Shri Chella Vaidhyanathan, a renowned dance enthusiast and a professional Dance videographer.

The Program was titled Shro krishnam Vandeham and was presented to a full house along with a live orchestra on December 25, 2019.
NATYA KALA RATNA AWARDEE - GANAMUKUNDA PRIYA

Swathi Lakshmanan presented a series of 6 performances during the December season of 2019 in various venues in India. The inaugural recital in chennai at the Gana Mukunda Priya, a renowned organization in Tamilnadu awarded Swathi lakshmanan with a Natya Kala Ratna for perseverance in the artform.

The series were presented to a full house along with a live orchestra on December 24, 2019.

Swathi Lakshmanan presented a series of 6 performances during the December season of 2019 in various venues in India. Song of the River - Ganda was a inaugural Solo Dance performance by Swathi Lakshmanan. The performance was hosted by All India Artists Association, at the Patiala Punjab on December 11, 2019.

The press and the president of the organization appreciated for the performance and for the title as it represents the river Ganga the evergreen River.
ANANYA - THE SELF

Ananya - The Self is a Bharathanatyam Dance Theatre Production, written, directed, choreographed, and performed by Swathi Lakshmanan. The Production was based on the concept "Ashta Nayikas" from the Natya Sastra which represents 8 different characters of a protagonist.

Ananya - The Self was a full-woman cast with over 20 crew members and was presented to a full house at the SAFEhouse Arts on November 1, 2019.

Song of the River - Cauvery is a Solo Dance production Directed by Swathi Lakshmanan. In this production Swathi Lakshmanan, Depicted the life of the River and its lost path. The production was presented along with a Live Orchestra to a Full house on November 3, 2019 at the SAFE house Arts, San Francisco.
