Choros Charas - Destination fro Arts is a Dance institution and a Dance production company founded by Guru Swathi Lakshmanan since 2019 in San Francisco California, and late established in Brentwood California and Cupertino California since 2021.
The institution teaches Bharathanatyam to students of various age groups and does numerous theatrical production with advanced and professional artists from across the country. The students of Choros Charas gets an in-depth knowledge in Bharathanatyam including its theory and heritage during their span of learning. They get to show case their understandings with an intimate audience group once a year and receive feedback, also perform for a larger group once a year as well to premiere their expertise. This way all the students are inspired to learn the art form proficiently in-depth. The Students of Choros Charas are also involved in various production aspects such as creative writing, designing, stage managements, compering, script writing, choreography, research, etc.,

Choros Charas - Destination for Arts has done numerous productions and Initiatives since 2019 and has received recognitions from across the globe. To name a few are Ananya - The Self, Song of the River (received credits from All Indian Artists Association Shimla), Margazhi in San Francisco (Recognized by Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records), Celebrating the USA (honored by the City of Brentwood as the Best of Brentwood 2022), The Arangham a new collaboration with dancers from across the country a travel production that aims at providing opportunities to the local and aspiring artists resources, training them in Music, dance, Theatre, Grant writing, Production management, Stage lighting etc., Students of Choros Charas has also been recognized by various organizations in the USA and India as "My Dream Dance Narrator, "My Dream Dance Story Teller" and My Dream Dance Narthaka" by My Dream TV America Dance.

Choros Charas also conducts Workshops and lecture Demonstrations with hosting seniors Gurus from across the globe providing opportunities for the local artists to learn from experts while the Gurus teach various techniques of Nattuvangam, Items, Sollukattu, Choreography, Margam, Adavus-Intensive, Varnam, Etc for levels starting from Beginners to Advanced.

Guru Swathi Lakshmanan

Introduction
Swathi Lakshmanan, the Founder and Artistic Director of Choros Charas - Destination for Arts, San Francisco California USA is a versatile and experienced Bharathanatyam Dancer based in San Francisco Bay area.
Swathi is a performer, choreographer, and teacher for the past decade. Swathi teaches widely all over the world for all age groups=and she always makes sure the Bani reaches the Students in a very traditional way. Swathi is also a Researcher and an eminent event coordinator who has been recognized by various organizations for her organizational skills.
Swathi Lakshmanan is a recipient of the Prestigious 'Kala Kaustubha' Award consecutively for 3 years for conducting my Margazhi in San Francisco by renowned Gurus, Swathi is also a recipient of the Prestigious 'Natya Kala Ratna' award by the Gana Mukunda Priya, Chennai, India a well-renowned organization that promotes Arts in India and abroad. Swathi is also an achiever at the Asia Book of Records and India Books of Records for her tremendous skills and for her mega hit Productions Margazhi in San Francisco.
Early Life
Swathi had her initial Bharathanatyam training at the age of 9 from Guru Shri K Mohanan and Shrimathi Sunitha Mohanan, Who has not just been Gurus but also has been great mentors and a family to Swathi. The motivation and encouragement from her Gurus and family have made Swathi form an institution to teach and practice Indian Arts in Overseas as well.
