About The Artist Kalaimamani Guru Shri. K. Mohanan, Prof Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai India.
Guru Shri. K Mohanan, Professor, Kalakshetra Foundation is a versatile and experienced bharatanatyam dancer and teacher. He has been a senior faculty member of Kalakshetra Foundation for the past 32 years and is currently a professor at this esteemed institution. Apart from being a well established bharatanatyam performer, he has imbibed the expertise in nattuvangam and is a recipient of the most coveted national merit scholarship from Government of India for bharatanatyam and nattuvangam. He has been conferred with prestigious awards – Natya Kalaivanan and Natya Kalaimamani – for his immense contribution to the field.
Guru Shri. K. Mohanan has spread Kalakshetra’s fame and culture across the globe traveling to more than twenty-five countries, including USA, UK, Japan, and the Middle East. He is also an academician with an extensive research background.
